PRICE RISING ON JANUARY 1 2014

Written by Carl Wallin on .

Due to rises in the cost of paper and production, we are having to raise prices at the end of this year.

Prices will rise 8.4% as, despite our best efforts, we cannot absorb the cost pressures any longer. The new prices will come into effect on 1 January 2014.

Our products continue to be improved with new features, such as better number/bar code strips, and most will have GS1 bar codes by the end of the year. The Firstaidform has been substantially improved, with continuation sheets for additional information, arising from a need identified by customers, for which we are very grateful.

What we produce is the nationally recognised standard for emergency documentation and will still be made to the highest quality by a dedicated and motivated UK workforce.

You can remain confident that you will be getting the very best products and systems available in the market.

The Royal Free Hospital London NHS Foundation Trust

The Royal Free Hospital London NHS Foundation Trust has now taken delivery of the Cruciform Patient Evacuation System (CPES), the first London Hospital to be so equipped. The Trust wants to ensure that if the hospital has to undertake an evacuation of it's patients, it can track and trace them using the unique GS1 numbers and bar codes. Clinicians will be able to maintain clinical care of their patients and relatives/friends can be reassured about their location and safety.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals in Kent already have the system and Frenchay Hospital in Bristol has started equipping their most critical areas with the system. Other Trusts are also considering the system.

International Cruciform Card

We are pleased to report that the International Cruciform card has being positively evaluated in British Columbia, Canada, and the Provincial Government has mandated training in the use of the card for all communities in the Province. This training will be conducted by a local doctor and her team.

"Cruciform" Patient Evacuation System

Written by Carl Wallin on .

The "Cruciform" Patient Evacuation System (CPES) is proving of great interest to Emergency Planning and Resilience Managers around the UK. A number of Trust managers are actively looking to introduce the system.

We have just been informed that the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is now about to order the system for their Trust. They will be the first London Trust to introduce the system.

Bar code and number strip

Written by Carl Wallin on .

The existing bar code and number strip has been updated with more numbered labels, 16 as opposed to 9, and more indicator labels, to ensure that the fullest information  is available to rescuers and those transferring and/or receiving the victim. It will also mean that everyone dealing with the victim can take an adhesive label for their own records.

The new bar code and number strip is also made of new, waterproof, material with significantly improved marine adhesive, which can even stick to damp surfaces. It has a very high tack so sticks immediately and permanently and cannot be re-aligned once stuck. This quality improves the security of the labelled item as labels cannot be transferred. The numbered wrist band can be cut off, of course, but once wrapped round the wrist and stuck down, cannot be unstuck.

The above improvement applies to both the existing "Cruciform" triage cards and the new "Cruciform" Patient Evacuation System cards.

We have taken this step as part of our continuing efforts to improve our products, which remain the best products available.
